Q39 - Midtown

Wings, crispy and cooked to perfection, seasoned just right. Brisket, solid, nice smoke ring and very flavorful. Do not skip the cucumber and onion salad! Highly recommended, they were extremely busy, but our server took the time to chat and make suggestions. Don’t skip dessert either!

Smoked meat is delicious, half chicken dark meat is preferable, ribs, brisket, burnt ends, and sausage. French fries is the only side preferable to me. Nachos are delicious however they're seasonal and available April through October. The service once seated is phenomenal, food comes out fast and the staff are nice. The atmosphere is loud and crowded since it is a popular diner. The price for the quality of food is justified.

Fantastic BBQ restaurant with great food and service! Tried Old fashioned, Best Wings on the planet, Burnt End burger and Carrot cake. To start with, Old fashioned is solid! Burnt End burger is so juicy and just melts in your mouth. Chicken wings are damn good with BBQ Sauce, and Carrot cake is out of this world! Must try If you like to indulge mouthwatering BBQ meat around Kansas City. I’m surprised how fast the service is! Note: All the food items are shareables

I was really excited to try this place as many say it is the best Kansis City BBQ spot. But I was actually disappointed after trying the food. Don't get me wrong the food was still good but nothing really special. I can find a similar level of BBQ quality almost anywhere else. I got many dishes; all of them were OK. - Burnt ends and Brisket: had much better else where (Jack Stack as an example) - Mr buns, another OK. Adding BBQ sauce lifted up the flavor a bit - Brisket Cheesesteak: what I call wasted calories, meaning very high calories that aren't worth it - Dessert Trio: was probably the best thing I had from the menu. I liked all the 3 desserts provided. The service tho was excellent. I told them that i need to catch a flight and they got me the food in timely manner.

We flew from Chicago this morning, first time in KS and had only one purpose, come and try Q39. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome, our waiter Haleigh was OUTSTANDING, absolutely the sweetest.. please if manager are seen this give her a compliment from our part such a nice employee you have, love her hospitality. Now about the food. We ordered what they call it THE best wings on the planet and they were not kidding, absolutely AMAZING. We also ordered pick 3 with ribs, brisket and pulled pork and all of them were delicious but my fav was the brisket, sooooo tender and great taste. If I ever come back to KS I need to stop at this place again, 10/10.

This place was cool, but I’m not a fan of placing an order and then having to wait outside. I was told they’d call my name once the order was ready, but after waiting 20 minutes with no update, I went back in and found my order sitting there—they definitely forgot. They need a better system for handling pickup orders. That said, the food was phenomenal. The wings and brisket were on point, the half chicken comes already sauced, and the burnt ends were absolutely worth it.

I came to Kansas City on a work trip with a mission to eat as much BBQ as possible and this one was recommended to me by colleagues of mine. This is probably the best BBQ I've ever had. I really enjoyed the brisket and sausage. Even a year later as I write this review, I still day dream about this place. I enjoyed it so much, I had to go twice. Both times I went, the service was prompt and friendly and I left with the meat sweats. Q39 is also quite affordable compared to BBQ in the Pacific Northwest, but seems pretty comparable to other BBQ joints in KC. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Lunchtime at Q39 a busy place. Good sign. Spacious open dining room with a good view of the kitchen and full bar with seating as well. Started with "Best Wings on the Planet". Definitely very good. Nice char on the outside, tender meat on the inside. Really flavorful. Then had the combo plate with ribs, and beef brisket. Sides of fire roasted Mexican street corn, and five cheese mac with breadcrumbs. Both sides were excellent. The ribs and brisket were good. A little on the smaller portion size than you would expect considering the price, but good nonetheless. Will definitely be back to try again..
